VPK – Landesverband Lower Saxony takes over pioneer Kirchlinteln / Hannover, Germany. Proven quality and reliable performance standards are essential in the child and youth welfare in Germany. For this reason, the Landesverband Lower Saxony private carrier-free children, youth and social welfare e.V. (VPK) has developed a seal of quality that is designed to provide an orientation for parents and all those involved in the child and youth welfare. “The quality assurance and quality development of educational AIDS in the child and youth welfare is a key issue for the VPK Landesverband Lower Saxony for years”, explains the country Chairman Michael W. Budig on the occasion of the presentation of the quality seal. The Association will give Member facilities so that impetus and support to their range of services for disabled children and young people, quality-oriented and future-proof design. Such services would be subject to a continuous move towards quality and effectiveness criteria.

To To strengthen quality standards and their development, and to promote the VPK Lower Saxony as the first organisation earned now its own quality seal “VPK-approved facility” for youth welfare facilities, Budig so. This quality seal is not an isolated instrument, but a component of a comprehensive strategy. To ensure minimum standards, a declaration of commitment was developed about five years ago, which recognize all member institutions of the VPK. Furthermore, quality circles which are inspired by provisions in the health care sector were established. There, for example, doctors and psychotherapists to regular participation in such circles are required. The VPK Lower Saxony quality circles consist of six to eight member organisations, which meet regularly at the regional level and to discuss issues of quality development and assurance. The newly developed quality seal is an effective management tool, significant improvements in the Organization and the tasks can be achieved with its help. In particular the recurring work processes the determination of responsibility, the Organization of the information flow at internal and external interfaces and ensure the quality of work steps through tests are essential criteria of quality assurance, which should be assessed and secured with the new seal.
